#TNW2017 - Arash Aazami / Kamangir

Rethinking energy: new models that make old models obsolete We all need energy, everyday, for pretty much everything we do, make or use. Meanwhile, 4 out of every ten humans live in energy poverty, depriving them of the opportunity to connect to the world and gain knowledge, wealth, or even time. Meanwhile, renewable resources are the abundant and eternal answer to humanities’ energy needs. We desperately need new models that make the old models obsolete, but what are these new models? What do they look like? And what will the effects be on our economy, our culture, and our society once we massively embrace new technologies that connect us to earth’s abundance? Arash Azami, Founder Kamangir Arash Aazami is an entrepreneur, system innovator and free thinker. He became director of an energy supplier, developed radically different business models and founded the world’s first “energy independence company” in 2010. He gained international attention when his work was awarded by MIT in 2014. In 2015 Arash founded Kamangir, a company designing future energy systems, developing long-term visions, strategies and transformative innovations for generations to come.
