Transcript: Are we already on a path to building an artificial general intelligence, or to put it another way, will the techniques that gave us the narrow AI that we have today get a little better, a little better, a little better, and then one day we have general intelligence? Are we on an evolutionary path from the point where we are right now to a general intelligence? People who think that an AGI is going to happen pretty soon and may be a threat, generally believe that we're already on our way to building a general intelligence. People who think it's further out and less of a threat often maintain that general intelligence is a very different thing than the narrow intelligence we have and we haven't even begun to start thinking about how to build one.
