In this episode, Byron talks about how some companies will become the superpowers of AI. Transcript: Much has been written about artificial intelligence and its ability to enhance the wealth of wealthy individuals. But in addition to that it also helps a very few technology companies lock in their supremacy in the technology. Although AI is accessible to virtually everyone now, building platforms and doing projects with it are enormously expensive. And so it's the case that just 8 or 10 companies on the planet have access to all of the talent, all of the knowledge, all of the money to buy all the hardware, and this will almost certainly help them cement their positions on the top. Big advances in artificial intelligence probably are not the kinds of things that are going to be made in a garage by a couple of people after work. The kinds of advances these companies are working on take thousands of people working very hard, sorting through enormous amounts of data and putting a lot of hardware behind it. So, I think we're going to enter a world with a few AI superpowers, and they'll be private corporations.
