How to first use your Philips Senseo® Original Flushing the machine to fill the system Remove the water reservoir. Fill it with clean cold water up to the MAX indication… ….and put it back onto the machine Move the lever upwards to release the lid and open it. Place a 1-cup or 2- cup pod holder in the machine without pods. Close the lid and lock the lever. Put a bowl (with a capacity of at least 1500ml) under the coffee spout to collect the water Press the on/off button and subsequently press the 1-cup button and the 2-cup button briefly at the same time. The system fills itself with water from the water reservoir. This takes some time (approx. 90 to 150 seconds). The machine switches off automatically when the flushing cycle ends. Now your Philips Senseo® coffee machine is ready for use. Brewing Senseo® coffee Fill the water reservoir with clean cold water up to the MAX indication and put it back onto the machine. Press the on/off button. The indicator flashes while the water heats up. This takes approx. 90 seconds. The machine is ready for use when the indicator light lights up continuously. Move the lever upwards to release and open the lid. Place the Senseo coffee pods properly in the center of the pod holder, with the convex side pointing downwards. Place 1 Senseo coffee pod in the 1-cup pod holder to brew one cup of coffee Place 2 Senseo coffee pods in the 2-cup pod holder to brew two cups of coffee Close the lid and lock the lever Place one or two cups under the spout openings. Press the button that indicates the number of cups of Senseo coffee you want to brew. Press one time for large mild coffee cup(s) Press one time for large mild coffee cup(s) Double tap for strong small coffee cup(s) After use, lift the pod holder out of the machine and remove the coffee pods. Cleaning the machine Clean the outside of the machine with a moist cloth. Remove the coffee spout Clean: the coffee spout the pods holders the drip tray the cup tray the water reservoir In dishwasher or under the tap with dishwashing liquid Clean the water distribution disc with a moist cloth. Be sure the rubber sealing does not get stuck onder the edge of the water distribution disc, to prevent leaking.
